About me

My name is Khaled Daiban. I was born in Abu Dhabi, UAE in 1986. I lived in Al-Bateen Area, but moved to our family house in Baniyas in 1987.
I grew up in Baniyas. I studied in Mussaffah for two years then I moved to Saad Bin Obadah School in Baniyas and I completed six years. After that I continued my studies in Ibn Alqaiem Primary School for three years. Then I studied in Hamza Bin Abdalmotaleb high school. After I finished high school I joined ADMC in 2005.At present, I am student in Abu Dhabi Men's College and have been for the past two years. I am studying civil engineering and my sponsor is Abu Dhabi Municipal Services. In my free time, I love to play ice hockey, football, run, read, watch movies like action and comedy movies and watch football matches. My favorite teams are Alwahda in the UAE and Barcelona in Europe.

What is Global Warming ?

Nowadays the most important problem in the world is global warming. Everybody believes that the world temperature is increasing because of carbon dioxide from our cars, factories and power plants and so many others. Furthermore, studies showed that the world has risen by about 1F in the last century. Moreover, climate change has been affected with the human activities in their daily lives.

There are lots of causes which make global warming happen. Firstly, is atmospheric greenhouse gases (water vapor, carbon dioxide, and other gases) scientists say that temperatures would be much lower than t are now without greenhouse effect. Secondly, is that air pollution caused by cars, trains, factories and fires. The United States is the largest source of global warming pollution in the world.

Finally, everybody has to change the way to live, so that we can avoid this problem in the future.

Causes Of Global Warming

Global Warming is caused by many things and everyday scientists come out with a new one. The causes are divided into two groups, natural causes and man-made. One natural cause is the big release of methane gas in the arctic. The other causes are the man-made causes which are the most important reason for this big issue such as using fossil fuels. These led to carbon dioxide emissions from trucks, carbon dioxide from airplanes, and carbon dioxide from buildings. We have to keep our sight clear and try to stop global warming from spreading. And we have to know how much loss global warming may cause to the world.

Carbon dioxide emission

If we want to talk about one specific cause of global warming we can talk about carbon dioxide emissions which are one of the main causes of global warming and it is the greenhouse gas. Carbon dioxide (CO2) gas generated by man's burning of fossil fuels and the forests is responsible for about half the greenhouse gas warming. Other gases (CFCs, methane, nitrous oxide, troposphere ozone) are responsible for the rest. Increases in all these gases are due to mankind's unstable population growth over especially in the last century, and increased industrial expansion. Approximately 80% of atmospheric CO2 increases are due to man's use of fossil fuels: oil, coal, and gas.

Effects of Global Warming

Global warming will affect many things like people and earth. The main affect of global warming is increasing in the global temperature. Also, there are many others effects of global warming such as environment acidification, rising sea levels and increase of diseases.
The effect of global warming will be terrible and if you look around you will see some of the signs for example the glaciers in the north of the earth are melting, also it increases the risk of flooding from high sea levels. If no action is taken now, then it will be too late as the greenhouse effect will slowly increase the average global temperature. This rise in temperature will affect the polar ice caps more than the tropical belt.

Rising seas Level

Rising of the sea level is one of the main effects of global warming. Over the last 100 years, the sea level has raised. Sea level change is difficult to measure. The major problem is that the land experiences vertical movements and these get included into the capacity. It is likely that much of the rise in sea level has been related to the concurrent rise in global temperature over the last 100 years. Other factors are more difficult to calculate. The rate of observed sea level rise suggests that there has a net positive payment from the huge ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica, but explanation of the ice sheets do not allow important estimates of their separate charity. The ice sheets remain a major source of doubt in accounting for past changes in sea level because of lacking data about these ice sheets.

Individual Action in UAE

In the UAE if we work together we can do many things. First of all, why don’t we have a day in the week or even in the month without using cars? For example we can use buses, walking or bikes. That may take longer but we will save fuel and do some exercise. Secondly, recycling papers such as newspapers and magazines and aluminum cans and glasses cups will decrease the energy needed to produce new materials. Finally, government must fines the old cars which polluted the air with large amount of CO2. In addition, all factories should put filtration to reduce bad gasses. Finally, grows plants and trees around the cities because the trees absorb CO2 for producing the nutrition. Therefore, CO2 will decrease in the UAE. Finally, people should grow plans in their houses, reducing using cars and educate their children how to protect the environment and the world.

UAE and Global Warming

An Australian scientist set the UAE as a base for his project. He has a theory to save the world from global warming by making the ocean bloom with microscopic plants that can absorb carbon dioxide. According to Professor Ian Jones a phytoplankton, which a tiny plant live in the sea, may become the solution for global warming. This plant can act like a tree, but by adding urea granules (a solid from nitrogen). The minister of environment and water, Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi was happy about this idea and he hop to meet Professor Jones next time.
